Basic UTS BS-5 Cabinet
The Basic UTS BS-5 from Düperthal is a type 30 safety cabinet specially designed for installation under a workbench. It is intended for the storage of small quantities of hazardous substances, while meeting the highest safety requirements imposed in laboratory environments. Thanks to its robust construction, compact design and ergonomic features, it is the preferred choice for laboratories, research centres and industrial facilities where space optimisation and safety are paramount.
This model features passive fire protection certified to DIN EN 14470-1. In the event of a fire, the automatic door closure system is triggered by a thermocouple, ensuring rapid and effective isolation of the contents. The fire resistance rating is 30 minutes, allowing critical response time in an emergency.
The cabinet has an integrated ventilation system with ventilation and extraction at all levels, preventing the accumulation of dangerous vapours. A standard NW 75 exhaust connection is provided at the rear for connection to an external extraction system. The low pressure loss (<1 Pa) ensures maximum efficiency of the extraction system.
The design of the Basic UTS BS-5 also incorporates physical safety features. The base is recessed to prevent collisions with the user's feet. The interior is equipped with an earthing screw in accordance with TRBS 2153 to prevent any risk of ignition due to static electricity. The internal fittings (drip tray and perforated grille) are conductively connected to this screw.
Its ergonomic opening system allows for one-handed operation, and the doors can remain open thanks to an integrated stop system, allowing safe two-handed access when loading or unloading products. The interior is easily adjustable and can accommodate various types of containers such as aerosols, bottles or cans.
The structure is made of powder-coated sheet steel (or stainless steel as an option), ensuring high resistance to chemicals. The model is available with a swing door or drawer depending on the desired configuration, offering additional flexibility of use depending on the layout of the laboratory furniture.
